New & Full Moon Gatherings

About New Moon, or in Hebrew Rosh Chodesh, The Head of the Month.

What is happening on an energetic level on Rosh Chodesh?
Think of the new moon as a seed that holds all the potential inside it.
A time when the energy of the new month is being encapsulated in one day.
All the potential energy of the month to come exists in this one moment – Rosh Chodesh.
All the new experiences, revelations, growth, and positive thoughts that will exist are bound into this day just bursting to begin.
Each time you recite a special prayer for the new month on its first day, each time you say a Bracha (blessing), each time you spiritually connect on this day; think of this potential energy of beautiful experiences that are yet to come.

What do we practice on these Gatherings?

New Moon Gatherings - Yoga Nidra and Nada Yoga

Yoga Nidra is often translated as Yogic Sleep.
It is, indeed, a state of Deep Sleep but a conscious one.
In Meditation, one remains in the Waking state of consciousness, and gently focuses the mind, while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and go on. However, in Yoga Nidra, you leave the Waking state, go past the Dreaming state, and into Deep Sleep, yet paradoxically, remain awake.
While Yoga Nidra is a state that is very relaxing, it is also used by Yogis to purify the Samskaras, the deep impressions that are the driving force behind Karma.
Yoga Nidra is one of the deepest of all meditations,

Nada means flow of sound and Yoga means Union. Nada Yoga is the process of the union of the individual mind with cosmic consciousness through the flow of sounds. When the river of consciousness is impeded by the ego, Nada or special sounds can remove the obstruction allowing the river of individual consciousness to unite with its source, the ocean of pure consciousness. Sound is a powerful, creative force. It is a vibration of matter, in contrast to light, which is electromagnetic.
When we hear a sound, every cell within our body resonates in response. Sound has the power to transform the psyche and bring healing & harmony back to any organ or physical tissue that has become imbalanced. Sound immersion allows every cell in the body to be washed with sound & the healing intention of the player, leaving the body feeling refreshed, revitalised and renewed.

Full Moon Gatherings - Kirtan & Cacao Ceremony

Kirtan is sharing together uplifting and high energy charged words, stories and songs about the divine. The ocean of consciousness.

It is essential to have the deep understanding that in this gathering of voices, each one of us is unique, highly valued and carrying its own important message through its one and only vibration.

There are no two alike. Each in it’s awesomeness, plays a necessary role in our communal fabric of energy.

By using ancient languages and sounds, we are joining old generations. We are joining their intentions to connect to the Heart of Creation, Divinity, God, Goddess, That that perhaps has no name, but is within each and every one of us and longing to be touched and awaken.

I wish us to awake together.

For thousands of years ancient tribes have considered cacao as a sacred plant with healing properties. Not only was cacao used in ceremonial settings but it was also renowned as a medicinal plant that aids in the healing of and opening up of the heart’s circulation. Because of its heart opening qualities cacao is a perfect pairing with meditation, yoga, dancing, and therapeutic. It facilitates greater connection to other people and to yourself. What a better match for our heart centred singing Kirtan meditation!

Raw cacao is made by cold-pressing unroasted cacao beans. The process keeps the living enzymes in the cacao and removes the fat (cacao butter).

Rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, cacao is considered a “superfood” and the goddess plant by many cultures.
